"Attended my second Meet & Link event this week. Like last time it was very useful, met some really nice people and caught up with some I had met at the previous event. Unlike other networking events Simon and Nitzan really care about helping their members and make sure that the evening is well organised and productive for everyone. If you haven't tried it yet give it a go - you won't be disappointed!"

Noticed an article on mnsbc.com that a chap Ron Bowes, an online security consultant, has posted the personal details of 100 million Facebook users online (Pirate Bay 'site) in a downloadable file.... Apparently, Facebook has downplayed the issue, saying that no private data had been compromised. OK - my question is: who is more irresponsible or responsible? Facebook, this chap Ron Bowes or the Facebook Users who randomly supply details - private or otherwise - to the entire world…? Should... Read more

There is a common theme in most networks that lose members. They either are difficult to navigate, do not send emails or ignore their users. Like all businesses social media needs leaders and quite often they need a bit of luck for the site to viral its way out. Is the next buzz word on social media therefore Influence? Fast Company think so, they've launched their viral campaign called the "Influence Project" to try and find the most influential people on social media . Coinciden... Read more

There’s a saying which goes ‘you need to know where you’re coming from in order to know where you’re going.’ To a certain extent this is true! We are, after all, a product of our upbringing and conditioning, and then as we become adults, our social circles and peers. It is these influences that ultimately guide our decision making and choices. And as such, if you are really serious about your financial future and becoming (more) financially savvy, then it is vital that you do the following; - 1.... Read more

Job search fact or fiction? You’re job search is not doomed, but without networking you are doomed to suffer a longer more difficult one. Although networking is important, it is only one piece in a multiple-channel job search marketing strategy. You help yourself best by working all your channels. Some other channels are: - Online networking portholes such as LinkedIn, Facebook and MySpace - Recruiters and Search Firms - Job sites such as Indeed, LocalJobNetwork, Ladders and CareerBuilder ... Four myths that won’t land you the job You’ve been lied to, bamboozled, misled and fooled by the people you are closest to. Your well-meaning parents, friends, and even your spouses have led you down the path to perpetual unemployment. Everyone, right or wrong, wants to give you their opinion of the best way to land a job. These are some you should ignore: 1. Keep applying For different jobs, yes. For the same job, no. Appyling over and over may have actually been a good idea at some point... Read more

Job interview guidelines that will lead to success Prepare for your interview by a review of these 10 rules. They will guide you to be confident, speak with clarity and use the interview to show your talents, fit and value. This is your moment to stand out and get hired. Rule 1: Think “fit.” The interview is as much for you to determine if the company is the right fit for you as for the company to decide if you are the right fit for them. Rule 2: Impressions matter. For most of us, trying to lose weight without deprivation seems like an impossible task. Perhaps you feel that way? How many of us have tried a number of diets only to put the weight back on again? Deep down, we all know that dieting isn’t the answer to permanent weight loss. Most people who have a weight problem do not know how to listen to their body or make the right food choices. Dieting destroys self confidence and does not address our unconscious patterns. When we stop the diet and g... Read more
